Active PATIENT REGISTRATION
When you complete the state's application through OneStop.md.gov and are approved via email, you will receive a Patient ID Number that corresponds to your patient registration with the Maryland Cannabis Administration.
You must re-new your registration every 6 years in order to keep your Patient ID active with the state.
Current Certification
When you visit a Medical Provider that has registered with the MCA (a "certifying provider") and they believe you qualify for medical cannabis, that provider will then certify your Patient ID number to be approved to purchase medical cannabis.
You must re-new your certification with your Certifying Provider once every year.
In order for a patient to be able to make a purchase from a licensed medical cannabis dispensary in Maryland, the patient must have both an active patient registration and a current certification.
